Futuristic dystopian books can be hard to swallow, but Voda has written "State Slave" in such a way that it is easy to pick up and learn the way the world functions in this book. "State Slave" is a great read that leaves you thinking far after you put down the book. "State Slave," the new book by the talented writer, D.G. Voda, is a captivating sci-fi tome that tackles a world "In an upside-down future where everything is provided but everyone's a slave, one man is about to learn the price of free." Voda has created a world of great characters and imaginative entities such as the "PeacePolice," AtomoLimo," "FreePad," that make the book thought-provoking, fun and full of twists and turns. Highly recommended.
One of the best dystopia novels ever written. A "1984" for our times. Voda is able to extrapolate the political correctness, anti-Christian bigotry, environmental extremism, and lust for autocratic collectivism of our era into a post nuclear holocaust hell world where the left in the U.S. prevailed. They have become worse than terminator machines and are more inhumane to their fellow humans than the machines ever were. The novel follows the transition and awakening of the protagonist from someone who has a government funded comfortable life he cherishes to someone who realizes that the people at the top of this socialist paradise are far worse than any faults a free and capitalist world ever had.
It's tonic for these times.
Been reading this guys stuff for 50 years and this is a good one. Can't wait for the movie.
